Environmental Policy

Elmy Landscapes Ltd is a small company specialising in landscaping and grounds maintenance. Our operational areas are East Anglia and the West Midlands.

As a company working within the natural environment, we are highly aware of the significance of protection of the environment. We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment in terms of waste generation, use of raw materials and emissions to air and water.

We are committed to continual improvement in our environmental performance and prevention of pollution. We will comply with all relevant legislation, regulations and Government guidance. We will also endeavour to follow industry codes of practice.

We will when possible review our waste production and endeavour to find the most suitable and environmentally sound methods of disposal, such as composting of green waste. Our target will be to compost all green waste by 2006. We will also endeavour to research less polluting methods of working, such as using biodiesel and / or using LPG fuelled vehicles when the technology and availability become more widespread. We will endeavour to recycle materials wherever possible, on sites and in our offices.

When working on a site it is our intention to keep the site as tidy as possible at all times and to avoid causing a nuisance to our neighbours. Control measures will be put in place where possible to minimise pollution from emissions of dust and noise. In environmentally sensitive areas, spill mats will be placed under plant and machinery during fuelling and/or maintenance operations.

It is our aim that through training and practices our employees are made fully aware of our commitments.
